DESIGN SERVICES TERMS & CONDITIONS

Thank you for choosing Kenwood Home! These terms are here to make sure we're on the same page from the start, so you know exactly what to expect and we can focus on the fun part: creating a space you love. By purchasing a design package, you're agreeing to the terms below. If anything is unclear, just reach out. I'm always happy to help!

Your Design Package

Each design package is a flat-fee design plan for one room. What's included depends on your package and is listed on the Design Packages page at the time of purchase. It may include a kickoff meeting, a concept board, a design plan and layout, a 3D render or styled mock-up, a clickable selection list, refinement rounds, and a wrap-up guide.

My packages are designed to give you a clear, complete plan that you carry out yourself. You'll handle ordering, scheduling, and working with any contractors or installers, at your own pace. Project management, purchasing on your behalf, and installation aren't included.

Booking + Your Start Date

Purchasing a package reserves your spot on my calendar. I'll confirm your start date, which is the week we'll hold your kickoff meeting, within one business day of your purchase. Spots are held in the order packages are purchased.

If your start date falls during a busy stretch for you, just let me know and we'll find a spot that works better. You can move your start date once at no cost, as long as you let me know at least 7 days before it begins.

Timeline + Feedback

Your design timeline begins at our kickoff meeting. Typical timelines for each package are listed on the Design Packages page, and I'll confirm your specific dates at kickoff.

Keeping things on track is a team effort! I'll ask for your feedback within about 3–4 days each time I share something new, and timelines assume feedback comes back within that window. If feedback takes longer, your delivery dates will shift to match. If I need to adjust a date on my end, I'll let you know right away.

If I haven't heard from you for about 2 weeks after a feedback date, I'll pause your project. Everything will be saved right where we left off, and when you're ready to pick back up, I'll fit you in on the next open spot on my calendar.

Refinement Rounds

Your package includes the number of refinement rounds listed on the Design Packages page. Each round covers one consolidated batch of feedback, shared in your client portal. Refinements are for fine-tuning the design we've already agreed on. A completely new direction after your concept board is approved may need an additional round.

Additional refinement rounds are available for $95 each.

Add-Ons + Meetings

Extra support is available anytime during your project:

  • Contractor Meeting: $125 for up to 90 minutes, on site or by video call.

  • Additional refinement round: $95 each.

  • 3D Render Upgrade: $150, for packages that include a styled mock-up, or for an extra angle or alternate direction.

  • In-person meetings: no travel fee within 25 miles of Wanda, $25 for 25–50 miles, $50 for 50–75 miles, $75 for 75–100 miles, and a custom quote beyond 100 miles.

Meetings can be rescheduled using the reschedule option in your booking confirmation email, with at least 24 hours notice. A meeting missed without notice may be counted as used.

Payments, Cancellations + Refunds

Design packages are paid in full at purchase. Contractor Meetings and in-person travel fees are paid when you schedule them. Additional refinement rounds and 3D Render Upgrades are invoiced as we go and are due within 7 days, and I'll begin that work once payment is received.

If you need to cancel, here's how refunds work:

  • At least 14 days before your start date: full refund, minus a $25 processing fee.

  • Less than 14 days before your start date, but before kickoff: 75% refund.

  • After kickoff, but before you receive your concept board (or design plan for Finishing Details): 50% refund.

  • Once your concept board or design plan has been delivered: no refund, since your design is well underway.

To cancel, just email me at abby@kenwoodhome.com.

Communication

Your DesignFiles client portal is the home base for your project. Please share feedback on concept boards and designs there, so everything stays in one place. For anything else, email is best.

Measurements, Installation + Your Contractor

I'm a design partner, not a licensed architect, engineer, or contractor. Layouts in your design plan are conceptual and based on the measurements, photos, and details you share with me. Before ordering or building anything, please have your contractor or installer confirm final measurements, clearances, plumbing, electrical, structural details, and local code requirements. The installation itself, and any work done by contractors or installers, is between you and them.

Products + Pricing

Your selection list includes sources and current pricing where available, but retailers change prices and availability all the time. You'll purchase directly from each retailer, so things like shipping, returns, warranties, and product quality are handled through them.

Colors, finishes, textures, and sizes can look different in person than they do on a screen, and renders and mock-ups are meant to show the overall look and feel, not an exact match. I always recommend ordering samples before you buy, especially for paint, tile, countertops, flooring, and fabric. Kenwood Home isn't responsible for differences in how a product looks in person.

If something goes out of stock within 30 days of receiving your wrap-up guide, let me know and I'll gladly help you find a swap. After that, finding replacements is available as an additional refinement round.

Your Design Plan

Once your package and any add-ons are paid in full, your design plan is yours to use for your own home, including sharing it with the contractors and installers working on your project. Please don't resell it or share it as your own work. Kenwood Home keeps ownership of the design, drawings, and materials created for your project.

Sharing Your Project

I love sharing a peek at the design process! I may share design work from your project, like concept boards, mood boards, renders, or mock-ups, in my portfolio or on social media, including stories. I'll never include your name, address, or other personal details. If you'd rather I keep your design private, just let me know anytime.

Photos of your actual home are a little different. I'll never share photos of your space, whether it's in progress or finished, without your permission. If you're comfortable with it, I may ask to feature your finished room, and I'm always happy to leave out anything you'd rather keep private.

The Fine Print

I'll always do my best to create a thoughtful, beautiful plan for your space. Timelines are estimates, and occasionally circumstances beyond my control, like illness or severe weather, may cause a delay. If that happens, I'll let you know right away. Kenwood Home isn't responsible for the results of installation or construction, the performance of products or retailers, or decisions made outside our work together. Kenwood Home's total responsibility for any project is limited to the amount you paid for your design package.

Kenwood Home is operated by Kenwood Design LLC. These Design Services Terms work alongside our website Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy, including the dispute resolution section, and are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota. If anything conflicts, these Design Services Terms control for your design package.

I may update these terms from time to time. The version in place when you purchase your package is the one that applies to your project.
